"Arise, Awake! Stop not till the goal is reached."— Swami Vivekananda
The Lion of Yoga
Why Vivekananda still matters
He was the monk who carried Eastern Wisdom westward — and brought the Western scientific spirit back to India. At the 1893 Parliament of World's Religions, his words on universal acceptance and religious tolerance shook the world.
More than 150 years after his famous address beginning with "Sisters and Brothers of America," his teachings on strength, fearlessness, and the unity of all life remain startlingly relevant — to our children, our youth, and ourselves.
As Yoga Bharati celebrates 25 years in service, we invite you to discover this extraordinary Veera Sanyasi together.
Next Season: June 1st 2026
Three Age Groups
-

Vivekananda for Kids (5-10)
It takes a village to raise a child. This is a beautiful age to start learning about spiritual. Children are naturally spiritual. They are closer to the heartbeat of the universe. Swami Vivekananda’s early childhood and his quotes are a great way to motivate your young children. Let us instill pride about being raised as a yogi child. A young yogi will be a confident adult later. We will followup with a grand drama where they play Vivekananda role.
-

Vivekananda for Preteen & Teens (11-17)
Be Brave! Be Yogi ! Emulate Vivekananda!
Youth are the most important torch bearers of the society..They are also quite stressed and demotivated with all that is going on. Vivekananda rose from the dust of colonial rule and roared like a Lion with his clarion call for strength and wisdom. Teens need him! Being Brave is about facing the world. Swamiji teaches us how. -

Vivekananda for Adults (18+)
Fearlessness amidst War torn World
We are busy no doubt, but to answer our children, to wake them up, and to inspire ourselves, we need the lessons of Swami Vivekananda. While the world is struggling to find a meaning in the meaningless chaos of intolerance, hatred, and violence, let us hear about strength that yogic (Vedantic) messages that Swami Vivkananda eloquently brings to us.
Who is Vivekananda?
He who has spread the Eastern Wisdom to the West and the Western Scientific bent of mind to the East;
He whose teachings are relevant to the world even after 150 years of his famous speech that started with, “Sisters and Brothers of America”
He who called for religious tolerance and universal acceptance!
He who roared “Arise, Awake! Stop not till the goal is reached!”
Swami Vivekananda’s message was centered on being strong and fearless. Let us find out why he chose “Arise, Awake!” as his slogan and yogic message while yoga brings many other messages too.
