Our Advanced Yoga Teacher Training (AYTT, RYT-300 towards RYT-500) enhances your yoga practice and prepares you to teach holistic yoga to the community. We delve deep into yogic philosophy from the ancient scriptures of Upanishad, Bhagavad Gita, and Patanjali Yoga Sutras. We are affiliated with Swami Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana (S-VYASA) in Bengaluru, known for its research on the effects of Yoga on conditions like Diabetes and Hypertension. The Advanced Yoga Teacher Training program is flexible and designed for busy professionals. You can choose individual modules or the full program to become a skilled yoga therapist, ready to work in private practice, institutions, businesses, or clinical settings.

Advanced Yoga Teacher Training deepens your understanding of Yoga Practice and Yoga Philosophy

Module 1: Advanced Yoga Foundation - 152 hours

  • Master Yoga Tools & Techniques: Gain expertise in essential yoga practices.

  • Explore Yoga Philosophy: Delve into Pancha Kosha and the Four Streams of Yoga—Raja Yoga, Karma Yoga, Jnana Yoga, and Bhakti Yoga.

  • Understand Stress: Learn about stress and its manifestations from Eastern and Western perspectives.

  • Enhance Your Sadhana(practice): Deepen your self-practice and empower your students to explore yoga more profoundly.

    Duration: Sept 7 - Dec 14 2024*

    Details: Every Saturday 7 am - 1 pm PST (some holidays)- 72 hours classroom hours + 80 hours of additional training using audio, video, and reading materials. Assignments and quizzes regularly make the program effective and engaging.

Module 2: Yoga Principles for Wellness and Healing - 176 hours

  • Comprehensive Coverage: In-depth study of Anatomy and Physiology and Applied Kinesiology (anatomy of movement) through practical training in a wellness setting.

  • Explore Healing Modalities: Learn about Ayurveda and Naturopathy as complementary and alternative therapies.

  • Psychology Insights: Examine both Eastern and Western psychology and their integration with yogic perspectives.

  • Deep Dive into Yoga Philosophy: Study key texts including the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, Hatha Yoga Pradipika, Yoga Vasishta, and the Bhagavad Gita.

  • Practical Application: Equip yourself with the knowledge to apply these concepts effectively in your practice and teaching

    Details: Every Saturday 7 am - 1 pm PST - 110 hours classroom hours + 66 hours of additional training using audio, video, and reading materials. Assignments and quizzes regularly make the program effective and engaging.

Module 3: Workshops & Retreats

  • Deepen Your Yoga Workshop: Focuses on enhancing your yoga practice.

  • Specialty Yoga Training: Tailored training for specific populations, like seniors, kids, prenatal, women, and at-risk youth.

  • Yoga for Special Needs: Techniques and practices for teaching yoga to individuals with special needs.

  • Ayurveda for Lifestyle: Integrating Ayurvedic principles into daily living and wellness.

  • Stress Management Workshop: Strategies for managing stress through yoga.

  • Meditation and Pranayama Sessions: Exploration of breathing techniques and meditation practices.

  • Philosophy Sessions: In-depth study of key texts, including the Upanishads, Gita, Brahmasutra, Atma Bodha, Tattva Bodha, and Sankhya philosophy.

  • Study Groups: Led by senior teachers (ERYT-500), focusing on asana techniques and yoga philosophy.

  • Yogic Cleansing Kriyas: Practices for physical and mental cleansing.

  • Offsite Retreats: Opportunities for hands-on training.

Module 4: Internship & Practicum Delivery

During the Internship the student:

  • is required to assist the primary teacher in the classroom setting and eventually be able to lead the session.

  • will also assist senior faculty in Yoga Teacher Training classes and lead classes under the guidance of senior teachers and faculty in these sessions.

  • observe the class, the students, and their practices. Adjust and help students to support their practice.

  • will learn classroom dynamics and discuss session dynamics with the primary instructor after class.

  • will maintain a journal of class logs and a report on their work during the internship in a prescribed format. Journals must be submitted to the faculty with the mentor's signature.

Practicum & Project Report 

  • 30 hours of teaching as practicum delivery under the mentorship

  • A detailed report on any three areas of yoga is required for submission. Examples include Yoga for Kids, Yoga for Seniors, Prenatal Yoga, Yoga for the Blind, Yoga for Veterans, and Yoga in Assisted Living Centers.

  • The report should include two case studies from the selected areas of yoga report.

  • Additionally, students will attend a workshop and submit data collected before and after the participants' experiences.

  • Students will submit a mandatory critical evaluation of either a workshop they attended or a yoga-related article.

Duration: Module 5 can be taken at your pace to shadow and assist senior teachers

  • 15 hours - Specialized Yoga Sessions (Deepen your yoga, deepen your pranayama. prenatal, seniors, other focus groups)

  • 15 hours - Yoga Teacher Training session assisting seniors and mentoring students
