Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) for Adult and Youth & Yoga Foundation Course (YFC)
Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) is a yoga teacher training program that prepares the students to teach holistic yoga in the community. This course integrates various aspects of yoga such as asanas, pranayama, kriyas, meditation techniques and the very essence of yogic philosophy into a holistic composite – thus enabling the students to understand and impart the knowledge of yoga in its entirety. Yoga Bharati conducts Yoga Teacher Training every year in the Bay Area. Along with yoga practice techniques, we provide in depth yogic philosophy from the ancient scriptures of Upanishad, Bhagavad Gita, and Patanjali Yoga Sutras. We are affiliated to Swami Vivekananda Yoga Research Foundation (SVYASA), Bangalore, a premier Yoga University in India.

We Are a Registered Yoga School
Yoga Bharati is a Registered Yoga School with Yoga Alliance (RYS 200). After completing YTT course, one can sign up with Yoga Alliance to become RYT-200 certified teacher. We also offer RYT-300 course to enable students to become RYT-500 certified teachers after taking both courses.

Teacher Training Options
Yoga Bharati allows incremental learning for those who are interested to study yoga. Following are the three incremental courses one can sign up and upgrade during the course (restrictions apply). One or more of the courses may be available in a given location, but not all. For details regarding the course at a particular location, please contact us. Prospectus of the course will be announced along with course dates.
Yoga Teacher Training for adults (YTT)
Yoga Teacher Training is a RYT200 accredited course through Yoga Alliance. This includes all the modules of YIC and additional modules for in-depth knowledge of Yoga Anatomy, teaching methodologies, practicum, and Ethics and Boundaries of business practice. YTT is also the foundation for those interested in the advanced programs, such as therapy oriented course at Yoga Bharati. This is for adults and youth 16+ years of age.
Youth Yoga Teacher Training (YYTT)
We provide in-depth yoga knowledge and foundation of yoga philosophy as a tool to handle their current stress, their upcoming college life, peer pressure, and inner conflicts along with knowledge to be able to share their yoga sadhana with other youth under adult supervision. This course is meant for youth who are already have some knowledge of yoga practice and concepts. You will qualify for the youth teacher certificate from Yoga Bharati. This is for youth ages 13-16 years. Note: Youth 16 years of age can take YYTT or YTT.
Yoga Foundation Course YFC
Yoga Foundation Course (YFC) provides in-depth yoga knowledge and foundation of yoga philosophy to be able to take the practice to the deeper levels at body, mind, and spiritual levels. This course is meant for people who are looking for in-depth knowledge of yoga and its philosophy for their personal interests. No certificate issued. This course enables them to practice yoga with deeper awareness, hence enhancing the benefits of yoga. One may repeat this course as needed for deepening the self practice. This is for adults and youth 16+ years of age.

Module 1 - Yoga Foundation and Teaching
Required for YTT, YYTT, YFC
This module contains: Yoga concept and definitions, Yoga Teaching Techniques, Basic Pranayama and Meditation Techniques, Asana techniques and tools and practicum training. By the end of this training, you are almost a basic yoga teacher.
This module is combined module for adults (16+) and youth (13-16 yrs).
Module 2 - Depth of Yoga Techniques and Concepts
Required for YTT, YYTT, YFC (separate tracks for Adults and Youth)
Module 2 aims to provide trainees a deeper concept of yoga, allowing them to be better prepared for their internship and teaching experience.
Adults (16+) - This module contains: Application of Yoga for Health and Wellness; Stress Management; Yoga and Diet; Philosophy and four streams of Yoga, Pranayama, and meditation; Kriyas, Bandhas and Mudras; Introduction to Sanskrit; and Ayurveda; along with Yoga techniques, and Practicum Training.
In-person Sessions - April 11 to May 17th (7am - 12.30pm) Venue TBD (Milpitas or Cupertino Area)
Online Sessions - April 11 to May 17th (6am-7am) via ZOOM
Youth - This is a module on Yoga for Stress Management; personality development; EQ improvement; using asana and meditation techniques and games.
Dates/Times/Venue - This youth module happens for four weekends during Summer 2020 (12.30pm - 3.30pm) Exact Date and Venue will be announced early 2020; This will be held mostly in the month of July/Aug in Milpitas or Cupertino Area. This will be a separate session for youth 13-16 years old as a part of Youth Teacher Training course.
Yoga Retreat (For ALL) - This module features a special offsite learning/ deep yogic experience.
Dates/Times/Venue - Sivananda Ashram, Grass Valley, CA (Exact Date TBD, approx. April end or May 1st weekend)
Module 3 - Electives (Techniques and Philosophy)
Required for YTT students only.
Workshops and Satsangs (15 hours) - We are a rich and dynamic organization offering year-round workshops on topics such as Yoga Anatomy, Ayurveda, Yogic Cleansing Kriyas, Pranayama workshops, Meditation workshops, and Discourses on various topics such as Patanjali Yoga Sutra, Bhagavad Gita, and Upanishadas. Calendar of events will be usually announced 3-6 months in advance.
Module 4 - Practicum Training
Required for YTT and YYTT only.
The student is required to assist the primary teacher in the class, and with class logistics in order to get a complete understanding of yoga as a business practice. Yoga session shadowing includes observing the class, the students and their practices, adjusting and helping the students to reach their maximum potential, learning the classroom dynamics, and discussing the session dynamics for 15-20 mins with the senior teacher after the class. The student should maintain a journal of class log and a report on the work done during internship in a prescribed format. The students should submit the journal to the faculty with the mentor's signature. There is also a minimum of 5 hour practicum training under the mentor.
The student is also required to lead some classes under the mentorship of the teacher. Once the student is confident and the teacher approves the student as ready, the student can give practicum delivery.
Practicum Training - Peer teaching or teaching the friends under the guidance of senior mentors for 10 hours. This can be started after Module 1 in parallel with other modules.
Shadowing - View senior teachers in a class setting for 10 sessions. This can be started after Module 1 in parallel with other modules.
Module 5 - Practicum Delivery and Field Report
Required for YTT and YYTT (youth will teach under supervision)
You are required to teach in a group setting under the mentorship of YTT faculty and/or other senior E-RYT or equivalent Yoga Bharati teachers. A field report on your area of yoga should be submitted based on the template that we provide to you. Example: Yoga for Sports, Yoga for Children, Patanjali Yoga Sutras and ethics in Yoga Teaching. Your own research on the topic, the field experience, testimonials, Your Journey of Yoga through this field practice should be journaled in this Report.
Adults (16+): Practicum delivery for 20 sessions independent teaching under a mentor’s guidance after Module 4.
Youth (Ages 13-15) : Teaching a minimum of 15 sessions as assistant teachers under an adult teacher.
Certificate: We will be issuing RYT-200 eligible certificate to adults and youth 16 years and above. We will issue Youth Training Certificate (please note, this is not a RYT-200 certificate)
Additional Note; Youth will be able to upgrade their course in 5 years (min age to upgrade is 16 years) to become RYT-200 certified if they also maintained at least 10 hours of Yoga Bharati’s Continued education units (training) every year and also teach at least 15 hours of classes each year. Length of Training
On average, YFC can take 2-3 months, while YTT and YYTT can take 6-9 months to complete the entire training. Modules 1-3 will be the intensive training sessions for 13 weekends in total. Modules 4 & 5 are electives and self-paced internship and practicum sessions. We believe that yoga training is a slow process, involving in-depth sadhana, and can’t be done in a hurry. YTT for Youth
Yoga Bharati believes in inculcating yoga culture to the young hearts. We provide the youth with all the training that adults get, but with special breakout sessions so yoga education is given at their level of understanding.
