Ashwini Surpur (CIAYT, E-RYT, MA Sanskrit, BS in CS) is the Executive Director of Yoga Bharati. She has worked at Oracle as a Software Engineer for 15 years. She quit her job in 2010 to join Yoga Bharati as a full time volunteer staff. She is instrumental in starting Diploma in Yoga Therapy course for Yoga Bharati and accreditation of the course with International Association of Yoga Therapists. She is also instrumental in starting yoga therapy as a service offering at Yoga Bharati as well as in Summit Estate Rehabilitation Center.
She has spoken at various conferences on yoga and Hindu philosophy. She has conducted numerous Yoga and Health seminars at hospitals, blind center, community gatherings, and corporate settings. She writes articles for various magazines and news media on Yoga. She is passionate about literature and philosophy and composes poems in Kannada and English. She teaches Bhagavad Gita for children and adults.
Savita Joshi, MBA, E-RYT, C-IAYT, is the Treasurer and the Director of Yoga Therapy Services at Yoga Bharati. She has a Diploma in Yoga Therapy from Vivekananda Yoga University (SVYASA), Bangalore, India. Savita has been leading yoga therapy program at Yoga Bharati for more than eight years. Savita is the faculty member of Yoga Therapy Training program at Yoga Bharati. She is instrumental in starting yoga therapy for fertility problems, and other disorders for women at Yoga Bharati. She led a team of volunteers to address yoga for vision disorders for children and yoga for ADHD and Autism spectrum in children.
Savita holds a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from India and Master’s degree in Business Administration from Cal state Hayward University. She has spoken at various retreats and conferences on the topic of yoga.
Anil Surpur (MBA, BS Electronics, E-RYT) is the President of Yoga Bharati. He has undergone BKS Iyengar yoga training, at Chennai, India in 1986 and has been practicing yoga since then. He has completed Yoga teachers training in 2003. He is instrumental in accrediting Yoga Bharati’s Yoga Teacher Training program (YTT) with Yoga Alliance and also has led YTT for over 14 years. He has also been leading corporate yoga program at Yoga Bharati.
Anil completed his Bachelor in Electronic Engineering from India (Karnataka) and has a MBA from All India Management Association (AIMA). He is currently the Director of Engineering in Ooma Inc., in Palo Alto, CA.
Shriram Sarvotham, PhD, E-RYT-500 has been practicing yoga since childhood; he studied with his teacher Yogacharya Sri Subramanian in Channai, India, for 14 years. He received the Yoga Teacher Certification from Art of Living Foundation in 2001. He has conducted over 150 workshops and retreats on Yoga, Bhagavad Gita and Patanjali Yoga Sutras all over USA. A key element he brings to the Yoga Workshops is the art of personalizing the yoga practice based on Ayurvedic principles. Shriram recently completed intensive study of Nadi Pariksha and Marma Chikitsa under the guidance of the renowned Ayurveda Master Teacher Dr. Vasant Lad in Albuquerque NM.
Shriram has received the highest accreditation from the Yoga Alliance as an Experienced Yoga Teacher (ERYT500). He is the recipient of the Exemplary Service Award given by the Consulate General of India in June 2015, and the Yoga Service Award given by ISKCON in September 2009. Shriram holds a PhD degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering and works as a Senior Algorithms Engineer for Apple in Cupertino, CA.
Jyoti Saboo, MS, PT, DPT, C-IAYT is a doctor of physical therapy, and has been a practicing physical therapist for the past 30+ years. In addition, she is a certified Yoga Therapist with the IAYT, and incorporates therapeutic yoga in almost all her treatment plans. She graduated from Christian Medical College in Vellore, India and later completed her advanced studies and specializations at USC in Los Angeles, and Arcadia University, Philadelphia.
She has her own private practice in San Jose, CA and works with several physicians in the San Jose/Los Gatos area. Jyoti Saboo has presented at yoga conferences, at community centers, and radio talk shows. Jyoti received the top three highest rated physical therapists in San Jose for 3 years in a row, including 2018. Her clinic also received the people’s choice award in 2015. She enjoys music, meditation, yoga and walking/hiking.
Ekaterina Jeleva, RN, RYT200 has been passionately drawn towards yoga since 2003. She traveled to India in pursuit of self discovery through yoga. Since then, she has done multiple Teacher Training Programs with reputed Yoga Masters. Ekaterina recently completed intensive study of Nadi Pariksha, Marma Chikitsa and Tanmatra Chikitsa under the guidance of the renowned Ayurveda Master Teacher Dr. Vasant Lad in Albuquerque NM. She is also a pancha karma practitioner, and received her training from Kerala Ayurveda in Fremont. She also assists in numerous Ayurvedic therapies and procedures at Kerala Ayurveda.
Ekaterina teaches variety of yoga styles including vinayasa krama yoga, holistic hatha yoga, vinyasa yoga, and sukshma yoga. She holds the RYT200 credentials with the Yoga Alliance. A Registered Nurse (RN) by profession, Ekaterina works for the Cardiac Unit at the Stanford Medical Center in Palo Alto, CA.
Savitha Nanjangud, B.Tech, M.S., RYT, is the Director of Education at Yoga Bharati. She completed yoga teacher training in 2009 and is pursuing yoga therapy training. She is a faculty member of Yoga Teacher Training and Yoga Therapy Training courses. She has been studying Yoga and Psychology courses for the last 4 years and has now been doing MS in psychology at Santa Clara university. She teaches yoga and psychology for Yoga Bharati courses. She enjoys teaching yoga practices and her passion is presenting yoga philosophy in a practical way to people from different cultures while retaining it's authenticity.
Savitha holds a Bachelor’s degree in engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, India and a Master’s degree from The Pennsylvania State University. She worked in the semiconductor industry for fifteen years before finding her true passion in Yoga.
