Ayurveda and Yoga Workshop Details

This workshop will introduce to the basic principles of Ayurveda and how we can integrate healthy lifestyle choices in our daily lives. The participants will go through an assessment to determine their unique doshic type. Following the assessment, they will be provided with Ayuryoga, a practice developed by renowned Ayurveda Teacher and Author, Dr. Vasant Lad. Ayuryoga is a personalized practice to suit one's unique doshic type, and combines asanas (postures), pranayama (breathwork), dhyana (meditation), and tanmatra sadhana (practices to invigorate the senses). Participants will also be provided with recommendations and guidelines about daily routine and lifestyle choices based on Ayurvedic principles, in order to promote exuberant health and happiness. As a bonus, the speakers will introduce basic principles of Ayurveda's unique diagnostic tool -- Nadi Pariksha -- the art of pulse examination. 

Speakers

Ekaterina Jeleva, RN, RYT200 has been passionately drawn towards yoga since 2003. She traveled to India in pursuit of self discovery through yoga. Since then, she has done multiple Teacher Training Programs with reputed Yoga Masters. Ekaterina has completed intensive study of Nadi Pariksha, Marma Chikitsa and Tanmatra Chikitsa under the guidance of the renowned Ayurveda Master Teacher. 

Dr. Vasant Lad in Albuquerque NM. She is also a pancha karma practitioner, and received her training from Kerala Ayurveda in Fremont. She also assists in numerous Ayurvedic therapies and procedures at Kerala Ayurveda. Ekaterina teaches variety of yoga styles including vinayasa krama yoga, holistic hatha yoga, vinyasa yoga, and sukshma yoga. She holds the RYT200 credentials with the Yoga Alliance. A Registered Nurse (RN) by profession, Ekaterina works for the Cardiac Unit at the Stanford Medical Center in Palo Alto, CA. 

Shriram Sarvotham

Shriram Sarvotham, PhD, E-RYT-50 has been practicing yoga since childhood; he studied with his teacher Yogacharya Sri Subramanian in Channai, India, for 14 years. He received the Yoga Teacher Certification from Art of Living Foundation in 2001. He has conducted over 150 workshops and retreats on Yoga, Bhagavad Gita and Patanjali Yoga Sutras all over USA. A key element he brings to the Yoga Workshops is the art of personalizing the yoga practice based on Ayurvedic principles. Shriram has completed intensive study of Nadi Pariksha and Marma Chikitsa under the guidance of the renowned Ayurveda Master Teacher Dr. Vasant Lad in Albuquerque NM. Shriram has received the highest accreditation from the Yoga Alliance as an Experienced Yoga Teacher (E­RYT­500). He is the recipient of the Exemplary Service Award given by the Consulate General of India in June 2015, and the Yoga Service Award given by ISKCON in September 2009. Shriram holds a PhD degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering and works as a Senior Algorithms Engineer for Apple in Cupertino, CA.

Sachin Deshmukh

Sachin Deshmukh
Sachin Deshmukh is a highly sought yoga instructor and meditation expert. Sachin Deshmukh has been trained as a physician in India and holds several degrees and diplomas in holistic medicine, homeopathy, Ayurveda, and yoga therapy. Sachin was born into a family of yoga masters, trained under several monks, and been exposed to diverse vedic traditions and philosophies. Sachin’s approach to holistic medicine combines ayurveda and homeopathy with the classical limbs of yoga, encompassing asana, pranayama, bandha, mudra, kriya, chanting and nada-yoga, along with Transcendental Meditation® and other mental practices. His approach is tailored to the specific needs of his students and clients.
